How to make a Soctopus

This is a great use for one of those odd socks that has lost its partner but seems too good to throw out. Most of the items should be readily to hand, and if you don't have any googly eyes you could use circles of felt or fabric. What you need: a sock, cardboard, toy stuffing (or cotton wool), elastic band, googly eyes, scissors, pipe cleaners (optional), glue or sewing needle and thread (optional).  Cut out a piece of cardboard in an oval or egg shape to fit into the toe of your sock. Tinkerlab Art Start Challenge - Chalk it up!

Day 2 of the Tinkerlab five day challenge and our Strange Snailers were raring to go. Today's task was simple to set up, great fun and the finished results looked fab. What they used: Chalk Black paper  A small tub of water Masking tape - to keep the paper in place   What they did: Draw, doodle, smudge with the chalks on the pieces of paper.      They experimented with dipping the chalks in water and looked at the different colours that could be achieved.
